We know plans change. This policy describes what happens if you need to cancel or change a trip booked with FairTrek Nepal. Your written booking confirmation may contain trip-specific terms, which take priority.
Cancellation by you
Please tell us in writing (email or the contact page). The date we receive your message is the cancellation date. Unless your confirmation says otherwise, the following applies to the trip price:
- More than 60 days before departure: full refund of payments made, less unrecoverable third-party costs and bank fees.
- 30 to 60 days before departure: 50% of the trip price is refundable.
- Less than 30 days before departure: no refund, because permits, flights and lodging have usually been paid for.
Flights, permits and other costs already paid to third parties may not be refundable.
Changes by you
You can move to another departure date subject to availability. Where possible we will transfer your payment; extra costs already incurred may apply.
Cancellation or changes by us
If we cancel a trip (for example, safety concerns or too few participants) we will offer you a different date, a comparable trip or a full refund of payments made to us. If conditions change during a trip we will make the safest reasonable adjustment. Costs caused by events outside our control (weather, strikes, flight disruption, natural events) are not refundable, and we recommend travel insurance that covers them.
Leaving a trip early
Unused services are not refundable if you leave a trip early for any reason, including illness or altitude sickness. Insurance can cover these situations.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned by the same method you paid with, normally within 14 to 30 days. Bank and currency-conversion fees may be deducted.
